1st St. Patty's event, more to come...

St. Patrick's Day was the theme at this Saturday's Farmer's Market. Nolan got a toy snake, Bethany got some MIO honey, that stands for "Made In Oklahoma" by the way, and I got to meet a leperchuan. Let's just say the 2 minute drive was well worth it!

DT library here we come...Choo Choo!

A few Saturday's ago Nolan's dad had the bright idea to take him downtown to take the trolley and go to the library. Let's just say some things seem a little better as an idea than in reality. It was still a blast but we could have done without the negative 13 degrees windchill and the 1 hour wait at the transit center.

5waiting for the trolley in freezing weather5
6waiting for trolley, weather not any better6
5Played "spin the globe" game and now have to take Nolan to Nigeria5
6Nolan loves heli's, Thomas, and computers...all 3 at once...what a treat6

All in all it was worth the adventure to add another memory for Nolan. Good thing another one is on the way. I don't think he could be spoiled any longer without turning into a monster.

Here's a little taste of what Oklahoma weather can do to a person's attitude...

In the spirit of the season...

We are going to an Oklahoma Blazers hockey game tonight. Last time we went Nolan was really into the game. This time may be different due the fact that two twin 5 year old boys will be with us. An update will be coming soon for proof on whether Nolan is a true hockey fan or not...

Day trip to Nanny and Papa Stayton's

This slideshow is a glimpse at our quick trip to the Stayton's. Nolan had fun but I think Bethany and I got the most laugh's in the car on the way.

I got the 1st laugh when my somewhat slow wife freaked out becuase she thought I was headed for... yes, believe it or not, a person in a wheel chair, doing a wheelie and heading for the cement barrier on the other side of the highway. It actually turned out to be a harley with two people taking the on ramp...needless to say after scratching my head I laughed my head off.

On the way home it was my turn. I made the mistake of telling Bethany about the embarrassing though that went through my head. The thought was that when I read the sign "Picnic Area" I thought for a split second that it said "Panic Area". After Bethany laughed at me I responded, "I guess that's where you go when you see handicap people trying to jump the barrier on the highway." And that one sent us over the edge, not literally.

Not about Nolan

Sorry about posting something without Nolan, but we had so much fun without him we wanted to share it. I don't think parents can meet full parenting potential without also getting quality mommy and daddy time. Anyway, Bethany and I left the little one with Grandma Barkocy and went to Dallas for a long awaited weekend for two. The first day was all about Bethany with shopping, shopping, and fine dining and the next day was for me. We met some friends at an adult arcade restauraunt and then watched a major league soccer game. Thank you Kathy for your help, we had a blast!

My Trip to Texas

Giving Granpa presents, Mimi and Uncle Matthew teaching me how to poop, Cornole, and riding in the racecar...sound crazy, just watch the video

and the award goes to...

Mimi (aka: Nolan's grandmother on his dad's side) came for a visit last weekend. She bought tickets for Nolan, Bethany, and herself to go to Sesame Street Live, called Nolan to tell him about it and let him know she was coming, drove hours in the snow, practically slept on the floor, paid for a nice dinner, and rocked the house singing to old heavy metal tunes (my side still hurts from too much laughing)
Anyway, you get the point, Nolan has an awesome grandmother. Thanks Mom and Dad (who is just as awesome even though he couldn't make it)
